Royal Queensland Wine Show

For 141 years, thousands of winemakers from across the nation have entered the esteemed Royal Queensland Wine Show (RQWS). Our wine and dairy competitions date back to the very first Royal Queensland Show (Ekka) in 1876. The RQWS is the first capital city wine show of the season and the first to judge the new season's vintage in Australia. As one of the most prestigious and highly contested wine shows, the awards are built on longstanding traditions celebrating excellence but are also reflective of current industry trends and in particular, changes in consumer interest.

In 2018, Chief Judge David Bicknell will once again lead a team of expert wine judges and industry peers from across the nation.

Following the competition and the announcement of the results, the wines will be showcased at a series of trade and public events. The popular ‘Grape Grazing By Night - Celebrating Australian Wine’ event on 6 July 2018 will give the public the rare chance to taste the newest wines from the nation’s best winemakers, including the award-winners. The event is now in its fourth year and gives winemakers public recognition for their achievements.

Don’t miss the opportunity to have your products judged at the highest level, by some of the nation’s top wine judges. The products are judged on their appearance, aroma, body, taste and finish.

Join us in celebrating Australia’s finest produce - this is a unique branding opportunity for your business, so make sure you don’t miss out.

Entries for 2018 will open in December 2017.
